Last Minute Gift Idea: Knotted Headband *pattern*

My 2nd gift idea is a simple but really cute knotted headband.  These can be made in about 15 mins or so, so you can give them as gifts in groups of 2 or 3 to a few special girls in your life!  Its also a great way to get rid of some scrap yarn you may have laying around in your stash. 5.5mm hook

measuring tape

Make a chain about 120 inches longs (if the recipient is a child, chain around 80-95 inches.) tie off

I used a book to wrap the chain around

Wrap a separate piece of yarn around to make the 'knot'

Tie a knot and weave in the ends. Cut off an loose pieces and voila! You're done :-)

Crossbody bags *pattern*

The pattern that I'll be sharing is for these bags...

I've tested the pattern, but if you find any problems or have any problems, feel free to let me know!

ch 45
row 1: hdc in 3rd ch from hook across
row 2-30: ch 2, turn, hdc crochet across. at the end of row 30, tie off

You should be left with 1 big piece like this...

Join yarn on one of the shorter sides, and continue below

1: sc approx 30 across the short side    
2: ch 1, turn and sc decrease across
3: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each sc decrease across
*repeat for short side on opposite side*

fold bag in half, make sure the short sides are lined up evenly, sl st through both pieces to close up sides

after joining yarn, continue with a series of slip stitches to close up sides. When done, repeat on opposite side as well

flip bag inside out so that the sl sts are inside of the bag.  You should be left  with this...

straps
ch 100 (more or less for a shorter or taller person)
row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook
row 2: chain 3, triple crochet across
row 3: ch 1, sc across and tie off

attach straps to inside of the bag

From this point on you can add fabric, a zipper, a snap...anything you'd like.

Simple Handbag *pattern*

This is a very simple design I came up with. The entire pattern is done with 2 strands of yarn held throughout. I've tested this pattern twice, but if u find any mistakes, feel free to let me know! Also, I'd love to see your finished projects. I'd like to start a section on my blog with other people's interpretations of my patterns! Email me any picture of your final projects!

ch 35
row 1: sc in 3rd ch from hook
row 2: ch 2, dc scross bottom side of chain (at the end of this row, you should be back where you started in row 1)
row 3: ch 2, dc around
row 4-10: dc around
row 11: dc 10, ch 15, count 10 spaces from opposite side and join with dc. This creates the opening for the
handle
row 12: 1 dc around and fo

Rose
 I got a pretty, simple rose pattern from here. I just didnt use the leaves that are also stated in the pattern. After I was done, I just sewed the rose onto the bag and that was it!

You can also make variations of this bag using this same pattern. Just add more rows (in the pattern its row 4-10) to create a taller bag. And in the pattern where you're creating the handles, just make more chains to get a longer handle. This is a different bag I came up with...

The possibilities are endless with this pattern! You can use a bow, a rose or just leave it plain. I like the rose better personally, but its totally up to you! Tear drop earrings *pattern*

I know its been FOREVER since I've posted anything  (crochet related lol)... But now that I've had my baby (who's 3 weeks old already, geez), I'm ready to get back into the swing of things! Being home these past few weeks, I've been trying to come up with some other interesting things to try besides purses and bags... Well my next best friend is jewelery, so I decided to try and start simple by crocheting some earrings... And I'm in love!! I've crocheted about 5 or 6 pairs already, which are all for sale in my etsy shop!

 These are all the one's I've done so far, and trust me there are going to be a lot more to come since they are super easy and quick to make. All u need is some scrap yarn and earring hooks which you can easily find at Michael's, or even Wal-Mart.

I'm gonna start off with the simplest of the bunch for my first earring patttern, and I'll work on writing some other patterns as I go for my next set.  We'll start off with these...

 Pink and Black Tear Drop Earring Pattern

Any type of yarn will do for this project and you only need about 8-10 inches of yarn for each earring, so its a great way to get rid of all the scrap yarn you may have lying around.

K hook


This pattern is done holding 2 strands of yarn at all times.

With 2 strands, chain 14 ( more or less if u want the earrings bigger or smaller.)
Sl st in the 1st chain and finish off. Get your earring post and slip it in at the top of the earring. Tighten it with some jewelery pliers... and you're done!!!

Bow Ties (*pattern*)

I have a friend who has a really unique sense of style... He wanted me to make him a bowtie, here's what I came up with...

The pattern is really simple, pretty much the same thing as my bows, bows, bows  pattern, just with some minor adjustments...
I chained 45,
hdc in 3rd ch from the hook,
ch 2, hdc across for 7 more rounds.

 I used an 'I' hook for this project.

For the bow center,
ch about 15,
sc across for 3 rounds.

For the strap,
measure the person's neck and chain however many inches you need. Once your chain is complete, hdc across for 2 rnds. I sewed a small button on the back of the bow so the strap can fasten to it.

Bows, Bows, Bows (*pattern*)

I think bows are a cute add to any accessory. Lately I've been seeing a lot of girls with them on headbands, and decided to try to make my own. They're super easy, really quick and absolutely adorable to wear!

The pattern for the headband and bow are super duper easy...

Headband (pink and black stripped)

foundation single crochet (fsc) 48,

ch 1 and turn (if u want to change colors, do it then ch1) if unsure how to do fsc, click here for youtube tutorial

1 dc in each fsc across (48)

(switch back to main color)

ch 1, sc across and finish off

For the bow

hook g

ch 25

rnd 1: ch 2, hdc across (start in 3rd ch from hook)

rnd 2-4: continue to ch 2, hdc across. sew the back of strip together to form a cuff

Center of bow

ch 8

hdc across (start in 3rd ch from hook)

put around the bow and sew in the back to form the bow

For barrettes, you can get clips from any craft store. Just glue them on and let them dry over night! U can make the bigger or smaller by increasing or decreasing the number of chains you do in the beginning of the pattern.
